While the Note 8 should be fine in the shower, there's a chance some steam/shampoo/temperature could kill it. IMO, safer bet is to get a waterproof Bluetooth speaker. Or, your phone would be safe sitting just outside the shower away from more heat, steam, soap and shampoo.
